“Hallowed be Thy name.” Matthew 6:9

God demands the glory. Why? Is it His ego? His thirst for power? Why must everything in life be about God?

Imagine a wildfire. And all it can do is grow stronger, spread farther. It’s destruction is without boundaries. It never says, “Enough!” That’s our will without God in the world. The only One keeping us from consuming each other, is the Spirit of God hovering over us.

This is the whole plight of humanity. We don’t want to give up our name. We want glory to go to others and ourselves. We’re sold on gaining the whole world and losing our soul.

The loss is too high in the eyes of God. “In this the love of God was manifested toward us, that God has sent His only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through Him.”

Hallowed be His name because He is good and without His goodness we’re as good as dead.

“Yes, we had the sentence of death in ourselves, that we should not trust in ourselves but in God who raises the dead.” (2 Corinthians 1:9)
