King David, in preparing for his death, is giving charge to his son Solomon to know and serve God with a whole heart and a willing mind.
I wondered this morning why Solomon would even need strength and courage? David had pretty much put everything in place for Solomon’s kingship. All expenses were paid for the temple, workers were in place, blueprints were drawn up, every fork, cup, and bowl accounted for. Seems to me Solomon could sit back on easy street.
Then I saw my own life. How God has provided everything I need to carry out His will today. All expenses paid on the cross, angels in place, plans and purposes drawn up, all patience, gentleness, kindness, faith accounted for.
And the Spirit of God questioning me from within, Is this easy street?
“Be careful now, for the Lord has chosen you to build a house for the sanctuary; be strong and do it.” (vs 10)
