When we were kids, we knew what was coming. A disappointed look, a twisting of the ear, a shout all the neighbors could hear. Some of us felt the sting of a belt. Others took the fear of no one really caring.
Hide not from the chastening of the Lord. Unlike our earthly guardians who for a few days corrected the best they knew how, the Spirit of God chastens His kids for unimaginable gain. Never shall we be left confused, discouraged, or rejected. For wisdom, knowledge, and understanding flow from the rod of a holy and perfect God. Is it painful? Without a doubt. But it will, without question, be profitable—yielding the peaceable fruit of righteousness, that we may be partakers of His holiness.
It’s safe to open your ears, born of God. You needn’t grow weary or despise His loving reproof, for the Lord loves and delights in you.
“Therefore strengthen the hands which hang down, and the feeble knees, and make straight paths for your feet, so that what is lame may not be dislocated, but rather be healed.”
