“Born to you.” ~Luke 2:11

It’s hard to believe, easy to forget—God made Himself man, born to us.

We must discipline ourselves to turn to the Lord Jesus if we are to win the war against our purposes in God. It will not come easily. We were born bent on ourselves. The enemy hates us, seeks to destroy everyone we love—because Jesus loves us.

Paul calls it beating his body into submission.

What worthwhile has not come through sacrifice and discipline?

Is it hard to pray? Ask, and the All-Powerful will give you the will. Is scripture confusing, daunting, one of many sources of direction? Ask, and wisdom will be freely given.

In a culture energized by entitlement, we must remain vigilant. The chosen of God fervent in prayer, dependent upon scripture. The Word our shield against the liar.

“He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; the chastisement for our peace was upon Him, and by His stripes we are healed.” Isaiah 53:5

It amazes me how a few words can change a life.
