“ I will do it.” ~John 15:14

Like a know-it-all kid I challenged God on His promise.

“You said You’d do whatever I asked!”—door slam, silent treatment.

Selective hearing is the kingpin of every teenager’s tumultuous existence.

I heard it this morning. Written in red. It’s been there since Jesus said it. Since the day I was born again, I read right over it. Took the words that served my purpose and conveniently left the rest.

“And whatever you ask in My name, that I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.”

What clear thinking parent gives a kid a sharp knife, matches, poison —anything they know will destroy them? Not one.

God will do only what gives His kids victory.

Huh…kinda makes sense now that I hear it.

It amazes me how a few words can change a life.
