“If you only knew…”
John 4:10
Tragically we can go after everyday errands without stopping for life-giving water. Did you know your soul was designed to be quenched exclusively by God? We’re made for abundant life—working, receiving, thinking, understanding, is the beauty of time and space. And nothing grows without water.
Remember the woman at the well—oblivious to the ocean of grace right in front of her? Going about our daily chores, as if nothing extraordinary is happening is draining the life right out of us.
There’s not a person alive who doesn’t need water to survive. Likewise, there’s not a single soul whose isn’t thirsty for more of God.
Jesus arrived at the well wearied and waiting for the woman to serve Him what He’d come for—her own thirsting heart. The Giver of all life is here…living, offering, raining every grace we’re needing this very hour. A fresh bubbling spring within—life everlasting kind of drink.
Jesus knew the full story about the woman’s sordid lovers. How they couldn’t speak the language of her longing spirit. No husband could satisfy her deepest need. The greatest, fullest moment of any day is when we return to that well where every desire was met, every regret left, and we found grace to say, “This is indeed the Christ, the Savior of the world.“ (John 4:42)
