“I love the Lord.” Psalm 116:1

I join King David’s proclamation for the very same reason — the Lord heard my voice, God inclined His ear to me!

You ask, “How do you know?” The same way King David knew. The pangs of death surrounded me, I was in trouble and sorrow, and the Lord saved meThe Holy Spirit brought rest to my soul, my eyes from tears, my feet from falling.

What do I give the Lord? I do what King David did. I receive, I obey, I praise.

I always struggled with love. It seemed a fairytale feeling beyond imagination. A Disney movie starring an oppressed princess. But never a reality anyone could really believe in.

Until the cross.

The one story no one could explain away. The Word time cannot erase. The Punishment who took my place. The Father who stays, takes me through my misguided ways, loves me the same today, tomorrow, always.

I will call upon the Lord as long as I live.

It amazes me how a few words can change a life.
