“There is the bringing in of a better hope, through which we draw near to God.” Hebrews 7:19

Try as we might to be fair, faithful, temperate in all things—in our own strength we surely fall short. Some days determination won’t be sidetracked by flat tires or the common cold. But sooner or later the phone rings, a message comes across the screen, or the pressure of smiling through the hard stuff just wins—and all human perseverance folds like a ton of bricks.

Laws can keep us in line, but they can’t transform our mind.

Temporary fixes are not what God is interested in. God sent His Son for the whole shebang—a permanent change! Where once we stood alone, Jesus stands for us. Where once all hope was lost, Jesus became our way to God

No more offerings, sacrifices, veils, priests between us—the blood of Christ completely redeemed us.

We suffer no lack of self-control when we surrender control to God. It’s when we take matters into our own hands we fall off the rails of right and wrong.

No doubt it will surprise us how the Holy Spirit guides us. For our silly ways are not His best ways. Our feeble thoughts can’t reach His everlasting ones. Though our travels may be riddled with earthly trouble, our hours will be countless with eternal purpose. What a thrill to be under the will of Jesus! Who blesses us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly realms!

“Therefore, brethren, having boldness to enter the Holiest by the blood of Jesus, by a new and living way which He consecrated for us, through the veil, that is, His flesh, let us draw near with a true heart in the full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water.”

It amazes me how a few words can change a life.

  1. Not sure how I missed this until now. Perfect timing on this Saturday. Thank you very much. It will register in full as I meditate over the next couple days. Thank you very much.
    Much love!
